Shine Through City Grime

Deep provocative thoughts will not keep. Refrigerate after opening.

Tunnel Falls. January 1, 2013. My favorite falls up the Gorge. Also my favorite hike. When I left the parking lot it was snowing and I had my head light on. The 6am start in the dark and whisping vortex of snow through the light was hypnotizing. Five to six miles in I think. The majority of the hike is on basalt. So Remember to wear good soled boots. After 10 to 12 miles in my old boots the arches of my feet were killing me!

I was bored. It started as a photo of a weed and I smashed the Ba-Jesus out of it with a bunch of apps.

It rained today. It was the first time in a long while. With the windows and back sliding door left open, I could hear and appreciate the sound and smell. That sound and smell of a good rain always takes me back to my childhood for some reason. I sat on my covered deck with my dog by my side and soaked it all in. Within that hour of calmness, the white noise, the thick scent on the breeze, all came together and washed my mind clear. The rain brought peace and tranquility for that hour. It was a gift.
